Between 8th and 16th century, through studying the translations obtained from ancient Greek, Indian, Persian and Roman civilizations, Muslim scientists signed new discoveries and inventions in many areas of science ranging from physics to medicine, and astronomy to chemistry.
At Islamic Science and Technology Museum, how Muslim scholars’ produced during that period and how they approach knowledge and technique is displayed and enriched with interactive applications, which allows the visitors to interact with the discoveries.
It is not easy task to understand the working principle of astrolabe, which is one of the leading innovations of the time. In another booth, to illustrate its use, a real astrolabe was eqyipped with special sensors, and now visitors are able to use it while watching the sky on a large screen. This way, visitors actively involved in the use of artifact and comprehend the working mechanism behind it.
